Senior marketer owns full GTM strategy, content production, demand generation, and marketing analytics for a technology consulting firm.
Location: Chicago, IL | Hybrid (1-2 days per week in office)
Reports to: Managing Director
At 8th Light, we bring life to the best ideas.
Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Chicago, we are a technology solutions consultancy that partners with organizations from early-stage startups to the worldâs largest companies. We take on hard software challenges and turn them into durable results. We build agentic products, the platforms they run on, and the engineering and design at every layer.
Our commitment to quality means we deliver solutions weâre truly proud of, while our curiosity sparks innovation and breakthrough thinking. 8th Lights thrive in an environment that champions continuous education, fueling our growth through mentorship and hands-on work. We foster an open, collaborative culture grounded in honesty that builds trust, and believe true success is measured by the outcomes we create for our clients.
If this kind of work and our kind of people energize you, youâve found the right place.
Youâre a hands-on marketer who makes things happen. Youâve spent your career close to the work, turning strategy into a steady cadence of content, events, and outreach that actually ships. Youâre energized by a clear market position and the discipline of carrying it anywhere a buyer might meet us.
You understand that in a market flooded with AI-generated noise, senior buyers are moved by credible expert voices, real stories, and warm relationships. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role. Youâll own the full marketing function solo, not manage a team, so youâre as comfortable in the weeds of a newsletter as you are setting the measurement strategy. Youâd rather help technologists publish sharp, field-anchored points of view on a reliable rhythm than blast a generic email to a list and you have the ability to shape an expertâs thinking without being the expert yourself.
You own the system, not just the project, and you hold yourself accountable to the results. Over your 6-8 years of experience, youâve brought:
We sell expert-led technology solutions and our pipeline tracks with how present and invested our experts are in the market. Your job is to make that presence consistent, sharpen the message behind it, and build the system that keeps it running without depending on heroics. Youâll own execution of our go-to-market plan and report to the Managing Director.
Youâll be responsible for:
We work across many areas, and we encourage anyone with the experience above to apply. Weâd particularly like to hear from applicants with experience in:
At 8th Light, we are committed to a compensation philosophy that is transparent, fair, and helps us attract and retain top talent in alignment with our companyâs strategic growth goals and clientsâ needs.
Our national page range for our Senior Marketing Manager position is: $106,100 - $132,600.
Youâll travel about 15-20% of the time, mostly short trips tied to a specific purpose rather than a heavy standing schedule. The bulk of it centers on our executive dinner series, small, invite-only events across our hub cities that youâll help plan and run.
At 8th Light, we believe our people are our greatest asset. Their growth, well-being, and success shape our future.
Our wellness package is designed with the Whole YOU in mind and includes:

Develops positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy for MongoDB's AI and context engineering products, working with product, engineering, and sales teams to reach developer audiences.
Weâre hiring a Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager to lead positioning, messaging, and product adoption across our AI and agentic context solutions.
This is a high-impact role for a technical marketer who thinks and acts like a builder. Most AI systems donât fail because the model is badâthey fail because they lack a crucial, contextual foundation. MongoDB owns a piece of nearly every step in that chain.
This role requires deep technical expertise across the context stackâincluding VoyageAI embedding and reranking models, MCP Server, and the coding agent ecosystem (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, Codex, etc.)âcombined with product marketing instincts to deeply understand the market and translate technical depth into crisp, differentiated messaging for distinct user and buyer personas.
The ideal candidate has experience building and shipping AI-enabled products and using developer tools in their day-to-day workflows. Individuals with prior experience in technical sales, developer relations, or software development are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate is a voracious consumer of AI research and pays close attention to shifting patterns in how software and AI applications are built and consumed. This individual is confident in communicating with technical practitioners and non-technical decision makers in one-to-few and one-to-many engagements for internal and external audiences. You will leverage your technical depth to craft clear, compelling, and highly differentiated messaging by working backward from customer requirements.
We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Dublin for our hybrid working model.
MongoDB is built for change, empowering our customers and our people to innovate at the speed of the market. We have redefined the data platform for the AI era, enabling builders to create, transform, and disrupt industries with software. MongoDBâs unified data platform, the most widely available, globally distributed data platform on the market, helps organizations modernize legacy workloads, embrace innovation, and unleash AI. Our cloud-native platform, MongoDB Atlas, is the only globally distributed, multi-cloud data platform and is available across AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
With offices worldwide and over 67,000 customers, including 75% of the Fortune 100 and AI-native startups, relying on MongoDB for their most important applications, weâre powering the next era of software.
Our compass at MongoDB is our Leadership Commitment, guiding how and why we make decisions, show up for each other, and win. Itâs what makes us MongoDB.
To drive the personal growth and business impact of our employees, weâre committed to developing a supportive and enriching culture for everyone. From employee affinity groups, to fertility assistance and a generous parental leave policy, we value our employeesâ wellbeing and want to support them along every step of their professional and personal journeys. OfferUp believes all value starts local. Our marketplace makes it easier for people and businesses to find more of what they need, right where they are - from great deals and secondhand finds to local services, rentals, jobs, and new customers.
Weâre building the next chapter of OfferUp, and Consumer Marketing has an important job to do: create future supply and demand, capture existing demand efficiently, reactivate people who already know us, and connect our investment to our strongest local marketplaces.
This role sits in our product org, reporting to our Senior Director of Product, and is a unique hybrid of hands-on individual contributor (IC) work and people management. You will directly oversee our product marketing team while also rolling up your sleeves to execute campaigns and conduct data analysis to drive key business outcomes.
Weâre looking for someone seasoned in consumer lifecycle and engagement marketing and traditional go-to-market motions, whose instincts skew toward growth marketing in a fast-paced environment: spotting supply and demand opportunities, moving quickly while the window is open, and measuring real business outcomes.
Youâll work directly with data and AI tooling and will be hands-on with LLM agents, and self-serve experimentation. The sweet spot is a marketer with foundational marketing expertise in storytelling, positioning, and messaging frameworks, combined with a growth operatorâs mindset and speed.
This is an opportunity to build a marketing motion most companies canât run yet: AI-detected demand, activated with local precision, measured in real marketplace outcomes.
Youâll inherit live demand intelligence, established channels, and real scale.
Compensation: $210,000 - $230,000
